Hi and welcome to my latest Website, Buy To Let Calculators.

Though now semi-retired, I have been and still am an occasional Letting & Estate Agent, Author, Speaker, Trainer, Mentor, Buy To Let Investor, Buyer At Auction and Property Renovator as my semi-retired work demands.

 

In the late 60’s I became an expert running a letting agency in W. London, Kensington & Earl’s Court, principally bedsits & flats to the youth of the day, Earls Court was the 1st Stop for hundreds, if not thousands, of Australians, tripping from Down-Under.

 

I had recently returned from my own tripping, which took me to Canada and a variety of Jobs from shoveling snow in the streets of Montreal to selling Encyclopedias in Toronto and lumberjacking in the Rockies.

In 1969 I relocated to Oxford, my home-city. In the same week that Armstrong took his Famous Steps on the Moon, I opened a Letting and Managing Agency letting the private homes of Oxford University Lecturers who were taking sabbaticals.

 

In the late 70’s I became an expert in the Self-Catering Industry, letting Private Homes, mostly flats & houses, in Oxford, mainly to summer visitors.

My Self-Catering experience led to my becoming a Founder Member & Chairman of the British Self-Catering Federation and Director of the Local Tourist Boards.

 

The result of this work was that I was made a Fellow of the Tourism Society.

In 1996 I published Investing In Residential Property, The Practical Guide How To Guide To Long, Short & Holiday Lets, which coincided with the launch by ARLA of Buy To Let.

 

Publishing Investing In Residential Property opened up the world of Lecturing and I became an Expert Lecturer on Buy To Let matters, delivering Seminars to Landlord Associations, Network Meetings & Property Exhibitions including the Property Investor Show and Landlord Investment Shows plus Advanced Trainings to thousands of students over the since 1996 with appearances on Sky TV, Bloomberg & the BBC.

During the 1990’s I became Expert in Renovating Distressed Property. Starting with renovating Houses & Flats in Oxford to meet E.T.B Grading Standards, I continued by renovating ELA Properties in Wandsworth, Clapham & Battersea,  ex-miner housing in County Durham & M60 Corridor, and redesigning & renovating terraced houses in the Valleys of Wales, all were mostly bought BMV at Auction.

 

From 2002 -2012, I developed and delivered Novice Investor Training to thousands of Investors through 3-day Advanced Buy To Let Seminars for the American Whitney Organization whose President, Russ Whitney, brought his ground-breaking methods to the UK.

 

From 2010-20 the most popular Seminar I delivered was on “Generating Tax Free Rent & NMLI” by renovating distressed property bought at auction. This training is now available online through the 3-Day Property Auction Masterclass.

During 2022 – 2024, I upgraded and rebadged the BRRRR Method Strategy as BRRRRS Method, adding an “S” to include the annual Sale of a Property to take advantage of the CGT Exemption available to Private Investors.

BRRRRS remains the most sophisticated Buy To Let Strategy being the Ultimate Perpetual Method of investing in the UK with the high number of unmodernized houses and flats, over 20,000 annually being auctioned but expert  training and number-crunching the Monetary Elements is essential.
